About Me
Hi, I’m Lauren Oberholtzer, a Richmond, Virginia native with a deep love for hosting, baking, fashion, gardening, and celebrating the beauty in life’s everyday moments.
My passion for hosting started young—at just five years old, I was already setting the table for family dinners, greeting guests with joy, and pretending to be the “hostess” at every holiday gathering. That early spark came from the influence of two remarkable women: my Grandmother Pat and Grandmother Noni. Both women who knew how to bake a cake from scratch, throw a warm, welcoming party, and bring any room to life with fresh flowers and amazing food.
Grandma Pat passed away in 2024, and Grandmother Noni followed in 2025. Their legacy lives on in me—in every celebration I host, every hydrangea I water, and every loaf of bread I cook for my family. Hostess with Hydrangeas is my tribute to them, and a space where I honor their timeless gifts of hospitality, creativity, and kindness.
A Little More About Me
I’m a 2020 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, where I earned my degree with pride and deepened my love for my hometown of Richmond. Today, I wear many hats: wife to my wonderful husband Jeremy, mama to our sweet son Davis, and dog mom to Hank, our lovable golden retriever.
By day, I serve as the office manager of our family-owned commercial construction company but my heart also beats for community and advocacy. I’m the founder of Shatter the Silence, a nonprofit dedicated to mental health awareness and breaking the stigma through open, honest conversation.
